Thank you to everyone, from our guests to our fabulous volunteers, for another scare-filled season supporting music, theater and the arts!
On this page are the photos, videos and other media related to Monster Bash 13: Where's Alice? - our take on the Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass stories written by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, under his pen name of Lewis Carroll - which took place in October 2025. For a description and some additional details from this Haunt, be sure to check out the Where's Alice? entry on our History Page!
KIMT - with studios in Mason City, Iowa and Rochester, MN - did it again for us! Yet another fun 30 second promotional video for this year's Haunt theme of Where's Alice? to get people excited for what this Haunt would bring! We're so glad we have the KIMT team to create these great videos, which is the 8th one they've now done for our Haunts! Thank you, KIMT!
Some fantastic news for one of the people that's helped shape our Haunted Houses over the years (and is one of the Monster Bash Board Members): Jackie Whitacre, who guides the Theatre/Drama/One Act programs at Fillmore Central, was named Minnesota's Theater Teacher of the Year! Congratulations, Jackie!
KVIK Radio - out of Decorah, Iowa - created this fun audio promotion for the Where's Alice? Haunt that we wanted to share with you! Thank you KVIK-FM (104.7)
Bill Von Bank is the host of the podcast called Growing Destinations which is a program that is supported by the non-profit organization Experience Rochester (www.experiencerochestermn.com) This audio is from the Growing Destinations' website of the program that was created on October 24, 2025 and featured Monster Bash's Board President, Jay Masters who talked about Monster Bash's origins, and the journey our organization took to become a favorite annual destination for a fun Haunted House experience in rural SE Minnesota: See the webpage A Haunted House That Gives Back in Harmony, Minnesota Thank you to Experience Rochester MN, Bill Von Bank and the Growing Destinations podcast for featuring Monster Bash!
MORE FIRE once again! The Fanzazzi Fire Circus was once again performing at Monster Bash - as a part of Haunted Harmony - on Saturday, October 25! As always, their performances were fun and filled with music and MORE FIRE!
Behind the scenes -
Before every haunt night of the season, and before our victims...er...guests come through our doors, there is a flurry of activity in the Haunted House, particularly where our actors get into costume, our talented crew of make-up artists do their wonderful work, and conversation fills the air before everyone takes their places, gets into character and works hard to put a few frights into those brave enough to come through one of our Haunts!
These pics are from 11-1-2025 as preparations were done for our final night of the 2025 season!
The 2025 Video Walkthrough!
With another wonderful haunting season completed - and our take on Wonderland having been experienced by over 2500 guests this year! - we have one final walkthrough of the Monster Bash 13: Where's Alice? haunt to share! As usual, these video walkthroughs (which are done after our final guest of the season has made it through intact) never can replicate an actual trip through one of our scary-fun Haunts, but hopefully it brings back fun memories of your visit, or maybe gets you excited for next year, when we'll be Completely Different to support Music, Theater and the Arts! By the way, see if you can catch the moment when our video recorder gets a bit confused (lost?) in one of the darker places in this season's maze of frights! Enjoy this final performance of the Where's Alice? actors, and we'll see you next year!
We did something interesting this year: on our final night of the haunt (Nov 1, 2025) one of our Board Members went up above the Haunt in our 2nd floor props storage area and - while some of our wonderful Haunt guests were making their way through some of our Wonderland-themed spaces - recorded a video where you can hear the laughter, screams, and startles along with some of our actors doing their thing down below. The video itself doesn't show much, but the audio (about a minute long) is a fun listen!
Pictures!
As has become tradition in recent years, we have pictures to share! First is a cast picture from Friday night (Halloween! 10/31/2025) to give an idea of how many actors we had in the Where's Alice? Haunt this year (30-35 on any given night were on the scare floor!). On top of that, this year's effort required perhaps the most makeup and costuming to bring Wonderland to all its spooky glory! It was a fantastic effort by everyone involved, and a truly fun Haunted House theme this year! Below are more pics that not only showcase the awesome students and parents and adult volunteers, but also the decor of the haunt this year. We had dark spaces to be sure, but the rooms were decorated up wonderfully again this year to give the feeling you were walking through Wonderland itself! As always, the students, their families and our volunteers make it all work!
Last but not least...
TEARDOWN!
We aren't kidding when we say our Haunts are Different Every Year! Nowadays, we don't have to tear down almost right after the last guest exits our Haunted House (which is what we used to have to do in the years we were at the Community Center), but we do usually start the process the following weekend: the tarps come off, the decorations are put back into storage, as well as the electrical cords, and the sound effects equipment. Our costumes get washed and put away and all the areas are swept up and cleaned up. This year is extra special because we have to have room in the "original haunt space" to move stored items from our "new space" so we can finalize the electrical there, and put up the insulation and walls. We have to do that so that we can incorporate about 2000 additional square feet into our 14th Haunt next year, which will be, of course, Completely Different!
Thank you to everyone that helps with the teardown and cleanup process!
See you next year!
