Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Monster Bash is an indoor haunted house. If our haunt is busy the waiting area can get quite warm, however the haunt floor is unheated and subject to the outside temperature. We recommend wearing outdoor, sturdy shoes as our haunt sometimes features outdoor terrain. At times, the queue line has extended outside the building past our "roof" where you will have to deal with the elements and things like mud or snow before you enter the building itself.

IS MONSTER BASH SAFE?

Yes. Monster Bash has an 10 year safety record and is protected by The Fillmore County Sheriff’s Department. Safety is our Top Priority for you and for our actors.

WHY VISIT MONSTER BASH?

Monster Bash is one of the best Haunted Attractions in Minnesota (according to mnhauntedhouses.com). At $13 for admission, we feel it's a good value. We are a non profit haunted house and donate the bulk of our earnings each year to support the arts (music, theater and fine arts) in the local area. Our actors are students, parents and volunteers from the local community and we still will get your scare on. Our attractions are built with quality and the best possible scares in mind. You can read reviews of our haunt HERE and HERE to get a feel for what our guests think. If you've visited us before, come again! We're "Different Every Year" as each year we come up with a completely new theme, a new layout and new scares. Visiting us will give you a different experience every year, and we even entertain in our queue line while you wait your turn for your share of the scare!

At Monster Bash, we want you to have an incredible experience. If you leave for any reason unhappy, we are not happy. We have a passion for what we do. Our volunteer Board, our students, parents and other volunteers are all itching over the winter to get back to work building, coming up with new ideas, and making sure you have a fun and memorable time at our Haunt. We don’t want you to visit us just once, we want you, your family and friends, to make Monster Bash a tradition for years to come, and be scared differently every year!

WHAT DAY SHOULD WE ATTEND?

You can find our open days and times here. Sundays tend to be our slower days and Saturday our busiest. Waits on busy days can take up to an hour or more, though we try to keep those waits as short as possible. To entertain the folks in line we have wandering spooks and a small concession area with candy, and drinks. We recommend arriving earlier than later. If you are in line and we pass our closing time, you will still be welcome to go through the haunt. We will continue operating until all our paid guests have gone through the haunt.

AGE RESTRICTIONS? WHAT IF I (or someone in my group) AM A CHICKEN?

We are not age restricted, though in general we recommend that children be 10 or over, especially for the "full scare" experience. We do offer an option to go through with far reduced scare using a glow-stick which our attendants can explain to you. However, we warn guests that while they may be a part of a reduced scare group, there are other groups in the haunt and their screams etc may bleed over into your experience. In addition there are elements that will be there no matter what. A reduced scare group simply removes the active scare from our actors and they'll greet you in character (maybe wish you a "Happy Halloween!"), and then prepare to scare the willies out of the next group!

IS MONSTER BASH REALLY SCARY?

Monster Bash is family friendly yet still Scary. We bring in actors of all types with varying skills from our local school and community. All our actors are volunteers; they come every night because they love scaring the heck out of our guests. Because our actors are parents, students, teachers, or other adult volunteers they may not be available every night. Even so, we go to great lengths to train them to scare our guests. So, is it scary? Every year we have guests who lose control of their bladder in the haunted house. From time to time we've had to go in and escort guests through the haunt just so they can get out. And at least once we've had a local football player curled up in a ball wimpering in the corner of a room. Is Monster Bash scary? Yeah, we'd say it certainly can be scary. But we know everyone is different, and we feel that you'll definitely have fun!

DO YOU HAVE DISCOUNT/GROUP TICKET OFFERS?

As a charity we do not currently offer discount or group ticket discounts. You can often win tickets from local radio stations (particularly Minnesota 97.5) and at different events.

IS MONSTER BASH HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE?

Yes, we work diligently to ensure guests in a wheelchair can access and navigate our haunt. It's not always easy but it is always possible. If we have a section which is not handicap accessible we let guests know and always have a bypass for that section of the haunt. If you would like to attend the haunt, and are a wheelchair user, please email mbboard@monsterbashhauntedhouse.org and we can coordinate your visit with us!

ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK

Enter at your own risk.

No persons or parties associated with this event are responsible for any occurrences that may result from your entrance. Do not enter if you are not wearing appropriate shoes and clothing. Even though we are an indoor attraction, you will be exposed to many different uneven surfaces that may cause you to trip, and sometimes our queue line extends outside of the building where there can be mud. Please be safe with your actions! No running or pushing or roughhousing is permitted. Do not enter if you are pregnant, subject to epileptic seizures, have heart problems etc. Touch nothing and no one will touch you. Also, be aware that you should not touch the walls/wood to avoid splinters.

Smoking, cigarette lighters, and outside alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited. Intoxicated guests will be removed without a refund at our discretion. We do not advise carrying children through the Haunted House in your arms, though it's understandable if they are scared. Please consider using the "glow stick" option for children to reduce the fright factor. You will be exposed to strobe lights, loud noises, scary / horror scenes, intense visual effects, and theatrical fog that may affect those with or without asthma. Prepare to be scared.  Be courteous to others, and do not cut in line or "hold spots" after paying for your ticket. Be courteous and refrain from using foul language. The Haunts are not recommended for those under the age of 10, but we leave you with the choice to have children under that age take part. Again, consider the "glow-stick" option we provide to reduce the scare level. At any time you may be asked to leave for inappropriate behavior or violations explained above and will not receive a refund.

By purchasing a ticket and entering the haunted attraction/property you agree to all of the above and take full responsibility for ALL of your actions whether intentional or accidental. Monster Bash Inc and any of their affiliates may not be held responsible in any case.
